So, I resisted watching “Survivor” for a while, but I gave in and it’s kinda cool in that it gives me and Kara something to discuss that isn’t all business of home and family. It’s OK; I kinda got sucked in. We also watch The Amazing Race and try to guess the winners the first show. So, both of those shows are on break right now so I thought I’d tempt fate by trying another one of her taped, reality programs.
I had to turn in my “Man Card” for this one; and I thought that I wouldn’t like it, but figured “What’s the harm?” It is called The Bachelor and Oh-my-goodness!!! It was HORRIBLE! The first part was OK, kinda getting to know a young guy, from Dallas actually. He seemed OK then they explained that he would be choosing one of 25 bachelorettes. He said he really felt like he would marry her. Really? Reality TV show contestants that you haven’t even met? How can this be normal?
I was about done with this experiment. I thought, “OK, I’ll see if I think any of the gals would possibly be a match for him.” The girls, in turn, got out a limo and had 15-20 seconds to introduce themselves to The Bachelor. Of the first 15, I had 14 “no ways” and 1 “heavens no.” Maybe even a few “Walk off the set right nows.” In that brief span most of them showed why they are still single. It was sad. There were ten more but I was done. It was too painful to watch. I’d rather watch Toddler and Tiaras.

Never seen it, but I've talked to one of the Bachelors before. Andrew Firestone? I would have never known who he was, but I was singing with friends who just needed to say hello. My dad is good friends with his dad.
Anyhoo, you should try "Project Runway"- which you will also have to turn in your man card for. I kinda watch it in fast motion until the end when the stuff goes down the runway.
No thank you to Project Runway. I've seen snippets and I don't get it. And also I saw enough to realize that everyone on that show likes men. No thank you.
i love toddlers and tiaras...talk about a show that sucks you right in...
i watched Conveyor Belt of Love the other night...what a hoot....absolutely the most shallow show ever...but it was great!
hilarious.
I saw a few episodes of the Bachelor, I could not help but watch, it was like rubber necking on the moral freeway when passing a terrible accident.
That was not one of my taped shows for anyone reading this. Natalie is the real reality junkie and she set that timer. Thank goodness her favorite "Biggest Loser" is now back on so we can delete The Bachelor from our recording schedule!
