New Natalie

We have apparently misplaced our daughter. The good thing is that we somehow picked up a replacement that is eerily similar and cute. But there is one major difference: palate bravado. This imposter Natalie is willing to try new foods. Within the past few days, of her own volition, she sampled a strawberry and a peperoncino of all things. (The fact that I’ve used the singular form of each is telling.)

With respect to the latter trial, she mentioned that while with her cousins in Phoenix last summer, “they got a little yellow vegetable at Subway that they liked,” She wanted to try it and asked if I would take her to Subway. (If she will try any new veggie, I’d drive her to Arizona!)

While she didn’t care for the pepper, she did eat the chicken sub, which is a monumental increase to her diet. (She has a very short list of things she’ll eat and half of these are various forms of Halloween candy.)

I've always wondered what kept your family alive and skinny. I guess I'll have to try the Halloween candy diet.
