We are on “snacks” for Natalie’s volleyball game tomorrow morning. Kara tempted fate by asking me to pick them up while at the store. She was careful to say that for the drinks I should get the red Kool-Aid drinks with the twist-off tabs. At the store I noticed that there were two colors, and since we needed 12 and each pack was six, I figured why not get one of each? I mean, after a grueling volleyball match a girl might be in the mood for purple, right?
Bad plan. When Kara saw the non-conforming drinks she said, “What part of ‘red’ did you not understand? Why did you get purple? ”
“For the little ladies that might prefer purple” I said proud of my pro-choice platform. This is America! I’m all about the girls.
“No, no, no,” she said, “variety leads to conflict. What about the 7th girl that starts crying because she wanted red?”
“Well, she’s going to learn important life lessons on scarcity, agency, and the importance of hustling to the snack cooler.”
(I’m sure Kara will get six more reds en route and I’ll be chugging purple next week.)

so stinkin' funny.
Variety does sometimes lead to conflict. Kara is a smart lady. (And she is married to a pretty hilarious guy!)
That would have worked had you not introduced those evil economic terms.
