I sprung a pop-quiz on the kids with a random tidbit from today’s pop culture. They did not know the answer but Erika asked, “How do you know that, Dad?”
.
I said, “I know everything.”
.
She said, “Oh yeah? OK, what is Einstein’s middle name?”
.
I had no idea but I bluffed and confidently said, “Frederick.” She seemed satisfied with that and then asked a question more relevant to her life, “OK, what is my GPA?”
.
Figuring she did not really know that either, I gave an approximation carried to the hundredths “3.83.” She smiled and said, “Cool!” I realized that to know “everything” I only need to know all that they know, and a little more.
.
And by the way, Albert Einstein did not have a middle name. Mental note.
