Amanda has become friends with a boy on BYU’s track team. Last night he invited Amanda and her roommates over to his house to hang out and watch TV. His roommates were there too, and one of them is BYU basketball star Jimmer Fredette.

Amanda: Dad, he was just hanging out with us. He’s totally normal and cool.
Me: Do you know who he is?
Amanda: Of course. He’s on the basketball team.
Me: Did you watch any BYU basketball games this year?
Amanda: No. But he’s on the cover of an X-box game!
Me: Yeah, I watched him play in two games in the NCAA Tournament this year. He’s real good. I remember them saying that he is from New York.
Amanda: Yes! We were all watching SportsCenter when they showed that the Yankees had beaten the Angels. He let out a cheer.
Me: Oh no.
Amanda: I told him that we couldn’t be friends.
Me: Atta girl.
