Last night at Family Night Erika shared that she was struggling with a sewing project in Home Economics. She looked to her mother but Kara shrugged, “Don’t look at me; I buy everything already sewn. I am bad at sewing.” Erika turned to me. I said, “So, what you’re saying is that in sewing you are only doing so-so?”
Poor girl. She only gets consumerism and puns from us. It is a wonder our kids are making it at all.

She has a sewing class?! I didn't know those existed anywhere anymore.
I think it is called Skills for Living but part of it is sewing and cooking. Sounds like Home Ec. to me. By the way, Miss Erika brought home a report card with 5 A's and 2 high B's.
