Natalie had a bad day today. Apparently one of her girlfriends was unkind to her. She didn't know why. Kara reasoned that maybe it was because she looked so cute the other girl may have been jealous. That was as plausible as anything to Natalie. 
Later Kara asked her what she wanted to wear to school the next day. Still pining she said, "As hideous as possible." I laughed, "You can't hide your beauty, sorry." She sighed. She knew it was true. (For all you concerned parents out there, we didn't leave it at that; we taught her how to defuse a situation and make peace if she needs to.)
