Another reason to hate hip hop

Sunday afternoon Natalie was playing Scattergories with Kara and Erika. As is customary, Nat is allowed to augment her answer sheet with “Dad help.” She needed a world leader that began with the letter H. I should have said something good like Herbert Hoover but I said, “Ho Chi Minh” and began spelling it. During the spelling of the second word she interrupted me asking, “Isn’t that a bad word?” I didn’t get it. Chi?

That's pretty funny. Si's football coach told the kids they could go to 'Dick's sporting goods' to get a mouth guard. One of the boys shot up his hand and said, "Isn't that a bad word?"

Funny that Dick was a popular name in our parent's generation. What have we come to? My friend and I decided to say "bric-a-brac" when we got upset at something. It just felt good to say and seemed to be a very non controversial word. I came to realize, shortly after, that any word said in anger or frustration with the intent to let off steam can be construed as "Bad". Just depends on the context and the emotion behind it.
