Founding Father?

This evening Ryan handed me change from a $20 bill that his mother had given to him earlier. The cash sat on the island between me and Erika who was dining with me. She asked who was on the picture. I was pleasantly surprised that one of my progeny would care ten spotto ask about who was on the bill and I eagerly offered that it was Alexander Hamilton, one of the Founding Fathers of our country. She looked perplexed so I continued, “He was never President, but he was the first secretary to the treasury, and kind of invented our money system.” She commented that he looked young, so I told her of his famous duel with Aaron Burr. She asked if this duel was recent, like last month or something. What? No! It was like 200 years ago. Recent? What kind of a question was that?

She then got up, walked past the island and stooped over the counter behind me where stood a 3x6 photo we had received in the mail. She said, “It looks like Lane.” (We had received a picture of her 18-year-old cousin in the mail earlier that day.) I then realized that I was answering the wrong question from the start.
