Name License

Sunday afternoon a friend brought us a loaf of apple cinnamon bread. It was as delicious as it was thoughtful. As I was enjoying a slice, Natalie asked me what it was. Hoping to encourage her to try it, I fudged a little on the name. Trying to hide any evidence of fruit or nutritional value, I told her is was “Sugar bread.” The next day, without any prompting on our part, she helped herself to a slice and thoroughly enjoyed it. (Tonight I’ll think we’re having Otter Pop stew.)

I totally have to do this with Stephen.I omit any word that would clue him into a fruity ingredient. Crack up!
