Socks

Last night Kara noticed that I was wearing white dress socks with my jeans. I explained that I have like, two pair of white sports socks and that doesn’t get me through a cold winter week, even if I wear them two days in a row! I said, “Yeah, I need to get some new tube socks.”

She said, “What you need is a more modern term. Tube socks? Really? Who still calls them ‘tube socks?’ Are you Bruce Jenner? Did you want to get the little stripes too?”

I really didn't know.  Was there a memo?  "No more tube, just socks."  How does she know stuff like this?  I wasn't trying to be chic.  I didn't know.
