I actually had a hankering today. That doesn’t happen often; I miss that. But I had one today, albeit unrequited. It was a very specific hankering: a patty melt from the ground floor cafeteria at the Wilshire building (Dad’s work). The last time I ate there was probably 30 years ago, and the patty melt probably isn’t as good as I remember it, but still. It was a good hankering.

Dave Tout once bought me a Tommy Burger. The problem was that I was in Utah, and the Tommy's from which he purchased my burger was in California. It was cold, but on my Top Ramen or pasta college diet it was also a very welcome change. Thanks "bum a ride."
i sometimes think about that place...they did have good patty melts...mt favorite thing there, besides the bagel and cream cheese, was a hamburger with mayo and tomato...everytime i have a hmburger i think back fondly to those hamburgers.
This is really Roger, but I was with you once when you got a patty melt at NME cafeteria.
