Frustration 2

Yesterday I couldn’t get my laptop to connect to the wireless network for several hours. I know the network signal was fine, two other users were having no issues. I re-booted. No. I went to click on the little signal strength icon on the little taskbar in the lower right corner but it wasn’t there. Instead there is a new little icon that shows “no connection” and instructs me to right-click for more options. My choices are “view available networks,” which shows none, or “open network connections,” which shows that there are none, or “repair,” which tells me that it cannot repair the connection because it cannot find a connection. No freaking duh. If the solution to my problem, IS my problem, it isn't very helpful. Hey Doc - I'm bleeding. Well let's see. Oh, the only thing I can do is tell you that you are indeed bleeding.

Now, I understand that you can’t get blood from a turnip, but why can’t an answer to one of the choices be,

Hey Nimrod, we’re not getting a signal so there is no way we can help you with on-line tools. You probably realize this. Even if others are getting the signal right next to you, and even if you got the signal an hour ago, for some reason you are not getting one now. You might try the following things: crying, prayer, magic, calling your brother Danny who is 1,500 miles away, or just work on a crossword puzzle or read a book.

Should I switch to a Mac?

Sorry I don't live closer. I assume you figured it out... ? Call me anytime you have a voice.

It might not help your wireless connectivity issues but you should get a mac. :)

Obviously it started working again (for me to post these stories that I write from the laptop.) I don't know how or why. I'm guessing ir was a delayed reaction to my magic spell.
