Opening Ceremonies

They were impressive, for sure. The 2,008 performers thing was clever, but wait, isn’t it the year like 5,987 on the Chinese calendar or something like that? The planning committee probably figured that this was an opportune time to adopt the western reckoning. Besides, this way they can avoid the Y6K problem.

I never thought of the whole Chinese calender thing. funny.

We watched it with our kids and we were talking about the Chinese population. We cane to the conclusion that being 'one in a million' over there meant that there were 13,000 poeple just like you.
