Smile Harvesting

This past summer Natalie has been teaching me how to play Facebook’s “FarmTown.” Before I had my own farm, I would log in as her and work the farm. She appreciated the help but I learned that she is very particular about what I do. I can plow and harvest, but not sell harvest and especially not sow. She is the field artist.

Kara is in Utah this week so there is not a whole lot of time for cyber-farming. However, on the way to school today Nat asked me to log on as her and plant raspberries on some of her plowed fields. I told her that I would; perhaps even turn the fields twice since raspberries only take two hours to ripen. She started counting on her fingers and then announced, “Dad, you can do it at least three times; I’m in school for 7 hours.”

“Hey Einstein,” I said, “you’ll be lucky to get two harvests. I do have other things to do you know.”

She asked, “Like what?”
